All you need is the intimate friendship with the Holy Spirit

2 Corinthians 13:14 (MSG) “The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you.” In 2 Corinthians 5:17, Paul tells us that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the past is gone and the New has come. How on earth is this even possible??? That reminds me of the confusion Nicodemus had when Jesus told him that for anyone to see the kingdom of God, he must be born again (John 3:3). Nicodemus thought he had to enter his mother’s womb again! But that was not so, the new birth is carried out by God Himself. God fills you with the Holy Spirit who initiates and sustains the change of your thought pattern. That means you get spiritually transformed, renewed, and sanctified. So to become a new creature, you ultimately need a new birth and not your old self. That’s why as a person that has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour, you cease to operate on your own. God starts working in you through His Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who reveals the depth of God. And remember knowing God is eternal life as Jesus told us in John 17:3. The difference between the New Testament creature and the Old Testament man, is the permanent Spirit God has given everyone in Christ Jesus. What a blessing to us! In Luke 11:13, Jesus encourages us to pray for the Holy Spirit because God is more than willing to give to anyone that asks. Brethren, the Holy Spirit is meant for all of us new creatures. Let’s pray and allow Him to manifest in our lives if we want to see God reveal Himself to us like never before.
