Romans 1:16 (GNT) “I have complete confidence in the gospel; it is God's power to save all who believe, first the Jews and also the Gentiles.” There is nothing in the whole world as powerful as the gospel of Jesus Christ. No wonder many places including our own dear India are fighting it. God has accorded so much power to the gospel that no devil can stop it from spreading to the lost souls. The devil is trying his best to stop it because he knows that once people get to eat and understand this truth, they will immediately leave him with leaps and bounds. So he keeps people ignorant of truth by making them busy with work that many even have no time to fellowship with other believers at least once in the week. Brethren, in Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commissioned us to preach the gospel and not to criticise who is right or wrong or even identify which church is right or wrong. We tend to spend most of our energy in identifying who is the false prophet and who is not. Let’s all learn a lesson from the great men in the Bible. Take Philip for example (Acts 8:4-40). We are told that in Samaria where Philip preached the gospel, there was a magician known by many as, “Simon the Great power of God” who for so long bewitched Samaritans with his magic. However, Philip didn’t criticise Simon but instead continued with his business of preaching the gospel that made all Samaritans believe including the magician himself. Believers out there, I plead with you to restrain yourself from engaging in discussions that criticise other people be it Christian or not but instead, I implore you to preach the gospel as Jesus commanded because It’s only by it that people change and not our criticism. The gospel reveals how God puts people right with himself (Romans 1:17) and that’s why everyone ought to know.
