Genesis 3:22 (ERV) “The Lord God said, “Look, the man has become like us—he knows about good and evil. And now the man might take the fruit from the tree of life. If the man eats that fruit, he will live forever.” After being seduced into sin by the serpent, man’s eyes opened to tell the difference between good and evil. This was disastrous because man was able to define his own good and evil which would put him in constant conflict with God’s good. For example, when man invents powerful war weapons, It looks good but this violates God’s good because once these weapons are used, they destroy God’s creation thus distorting the natural balance created by God. Because of this conflict of interest, man was driven out of the garden of Eden without tasting the tree of life which would give him eternal life of continuous rebellion to God’s definition of good. God never intended us to have the knowledge of good and evil, but he intends us to know Him and His purpose. That’s why Jesus tells us in John 17:3, that eternal life is knowing the one true God and Jesus Christ His only son. And that’s the very reason Jesus came: To restore us to the eternal purpose of God. The tree of life which Adam and Eve didn’t eat is promised to everyone who conquers this life of rebellion and sin(Revelation 2:7). *Hallelujah*! *Further* *study* Genesis 2:9,15-17
