Genesis 3:4-5 (MSG) “The serpent told the Woman, “You won’t die. God knows that the moment you eat from that tree, you’ll see what’s really going on. You’ll be just like God, knowing everything, ranging all the way from good to evil.” You might ask yourself a question! Why did the serpent approach Eve and not Adam? The reason is simple, people that know lesser truth are easily trapped by the devil. Our adversary the devil uses half-baked truth to lure God’s people into sin. The devil could not dare approach Adam because he knew his plan would utterly fail because Adam was grounded on truth which the enemy could not easily twist. In tempting Eve, the devil used Eve’s ignorance of who she was. For example the devil told Eve that, “when you eat the fruit, you will be just like God,” but that was wrong because Genesis 1:27 tells us that man was created in the image of God, so we needn’t want to be like God because already we were like Him. I assure you that if you know half truth, you will always be meat to the devil. You won’t have resistance to his seemingly great offers when he tempts you from Left to right. Jesus is our perfect example of how to overcome Satan. When the devil tried to tempt Jesus, he utterly failed because Jesus had a firm foundation on scriptures which He used to overcome all the schemes of the devil. Likewise to us, unless we ground ourselves in the scriptures, we shall never know the truth and the enemy will take advantage of this ignorance. That’s why Hosea 4:6 says that my people perish for lack of knowledge. Let’s learn this truth by reading the scriptures. Know the truth and the truth will set you free (John 8:32) *Further* *study* Matthew 4:1-10 2Corinthians 2:11
