Jesus, the true bread of Life

John 6:47-48 (ERV) “I can assure you that anyone who believes has eternal life. I am the bread that gives life.” By choice, God chose the Israelites not because they were perfect but because he had a covenant with them through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In Exodus 12, the scriptures explain the death of the first born sons of all Egyptian households. In order to survive the plague, God commanded the Israelites to slaughter a lamb to eat on the Passover and sprinkle its blood on the House doorpost. Their simple obedience to God’s instructions saved them during the Passover. Likewise if we are to escape the wrath of God during the Passover from this sinful life to the perfect life, we must eat the body and drink the blood of Jesus. In doing so, we shall find ourselves inside the house built up by God Himself.
