John 1:35-36 (MSG) “The next day John was back at his post with two disciples, who were watching. He looked up, saw Jesus walking nearby, and said, “Here he is, God’s Passover Lamb.” The very first day John saw Jesus, he revealed a mystery that was started through Abraham. We all know through the Bible that Abraham is rendered as the father of faith (Romans 4:16). Faith was accredited to Abraham because he believed and trusted God for every word God spoke to him. In testing Abraham’s faith, God commanded him to sacrifice his beloved son Isaac. Abraham didn’t wink for a moment, but instead woke up early the next day to fulfil God’s command. His faith pleased God who provided a lamb for a sacrifice in place of Isaac. The Jesus we are talking about is God’s perfect sacrifice. He is the Passover lamb. In the Old Testament, a goat had to be provided every time for the remission of sins but this sacrifice of Christ is once and for all and forgives all sins. To receive this sacrifice, all you have to do is believe and trust God just as our father of faith Abraham did. How do you get to grow your trust in God? By making efforts to know Him and Jesus personally through His word. That is eternal life! (John 17:3). When you do that, your faith will grow to trust Him always. That’s the only way we can be made right with God. *Further* *study* Genesis 22:1-18 Romans 4:1-25
