The righteous shall live by faith

Galatians 3:10-11 (ERV) “But people who depend on following the law to make them right are under a curse. As the Scriptures say, “They must do everything that is written in the law. If they do not always obey, they are under a curse.” So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by the law. The Scriptures say, “The one who is right with God by faith will live forever.”” Just recently a team of us happened to meet a friend’s father who is a perpetual Hindu. His son who is a great friend to us arranged the meeting. On meeting him, everything seemed normal because we even shook hands. But however, after saying goodbyes, we observed that he rushed to clean his hands with dirty temple pool water that was just besides us. To him, our hands were dirtier than the water he used for cleaning himself. According to his practices, we were “impure”. How sad I felt because he was in utmost bondage. Likewise in the Christian fraternity, I’ve equally observed that many Christians get lost in the religious practices and miss the purpose of the coming of Christ. In Matthew 5:17, Jesus says that He came to fulfil the law. What did He mean by that? To appreciate the person of Jesus Christ, we ought to understand the events that took place before his first coming. That’s why it is important to thoroughly read the Old Testament to understand the New. The more the laws were given in the old, the more the people sinned and the more God’s anger burned that He would literally consume the children of Israel by any slight sin they committed. Even today people still do sin but God’s grace through Jesus Christ has prevailed and that’s why you need to understand this Gift of God to humanity for you to book your ticket to eternal life. To become righteous, follow Jesus by believing in His ability to redeem you from sin that is brought by the law. Grow your faith by searching out the scriptures daily.
