Matthew 24:35 (GNT)
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”
Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 1:5 that the word of God has its own inherent power. That inherent power is no respecter of persons. When you understand this message of Christ (Grace), you stop doing the word but instead the word does you to bear fruit by its own inherent power.
Everything Christ did was a lesson. In teaching of faith, Christ did so by cursing the fig tree when it failed to provide him with fruits. Because the tree didn't dry immediately, the disciples with Jesus would have seen him as crazy (the earthly reality) but the God-reality says that whatever you bind on earth, is bound in heaven. Jesus was walking in the principles. The next day, Peter confirmed Jesus' word by showing him the dried fig tree He cursed the previous day.
It's smart for us to know the definition of faith but it's maturity for us to walk in the definition. Jesus was not bothered that the fig tree didn't dry immediately at His word but He knew that His word was enough. That's faith. The bible tells us that when God promised Abraham a son in his old age, Abraham didn't survey Sarah's deadness of womb to confirm God's word. He simply believed. That's faith. When you have symptoms of sickness, swellings, red eyes, vomiting and pain and choose to believe that it's well, that is faith.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Choose today to walk in the word of God.
Blessed day
